Estate Planning

Estate planning can be tricky, there can be  a number of "moving parts" depending on, among other factors, size of the estate, assets in the estate, and the state of the family relationships.  The financial planners at Hamano & Associates can help you take all those pieces and assemble them to form a more complete picture, from which we can create some actionable plans.

Our Process:

At Hamano and Associates we know that there is never a "one size fits all" when it comes to planning and that each of our clients has their own unqiue goals and challenges.  We have tried to tailor our process to address the needs of all our clients, below you can get a glimpse of how the process works.

STEP 1: "Get to know you"

Before we can begin helping you to assemble your puzzle we first need to know a little bit about you and what your current vision is for your legacy and your estate. Through the use of our comprehensive questionnaire and interviews with our advisors we will gather as much information as we can about you and what we sometimes refer to as your “wish list”.

STEP 2: "Data Collection"

Part of getting to know you is finding out what puzzle pieces your already have and what you may still need.  After we have a better understanding of you and your desires, we may want to see see any documents you may already have trusts, wills etc.  We will help you to collect and organize these pieces

STEP 3: “Analysis: The Basics”

Based on our meetings and the information we gathered in steps 1 & 2, the Hamano team can now get to work and begin our analysis.  Reviewing all the information you provided us and assembling some possible plans to help to set you on the path to addressing each of your goals and objectives.

STEP 4: “Presentation & Collaboration”

We like to call this step presentation AND collaboration, with an emphasis on the collaboration.  After our team has analyzed and assembled some possible strategies for your plan, we always want to review both our analysis and our suggestions with you.  This provides you the opportunity to ask questions and ultimately help us mold what we have into a customized plan and strategy tailored to your "wants & needs".

STEP 5: “Implementation”

Sometime one of the hardest steps is actually putting all the pieces into place.  This will be your time to shine as you work alongside the Hamano Team to assemble all the pieces outlined in Step 4.

STEP 5: “Monitor & Adapt”

Follow-up can be as important as planning and implementation.  At Hamano & Associates we know that life can be unpredictable, and you never know when a curve ball will get thrown your way.  That's why, part of our process includes periodic "update" meetings. The meetings provide your Hamano Team an opportunity to check on how your plan is doing, but more importantly offers you a chance to discuss any "curve" balls life might have thrown at you. Perhaps, you just found out you are expecting a new addition to your family, or a new marriage or an unfortunate death. These life changes could potentially trigger changes to your current plan, in which case Hamano & Associates will be there with you to start the process again.
